About Breaking Benjamin

Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band that formed in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, in 1999. The group was founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Benjamin Burnley, along with drummer Jeremy Hummel. The lineup later expanded to include guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark James Klepaski. In 2002, they released their debut album Saturate, which featured tracks like “Polyamorous” and “Skin,” helping the band gain a foothold in the rock scene.

Their 2004 album We Are Not Alone included popular singles like “So Cold” and “Sooner or Later,” which boosted their visibility in the mainstream. The band’s third album, Phobia (2006), produced even bigger hits like “The Diary of Jane” and “Breath,” solidifying their place in the hard rock genre. However, internal tensions and Burnley’s health struggles led to some lineup changes, including the departure of Fink and Klepaski in 2011.

After a brief hiatus, Breaking Benjamin reformed in 2014, with Burnley as the only consistent member. The new lineup, including bassist Aaron Bruch, guitarist Keith Wallen, guitarist Jasen Rauch, and drummer Shaun Foist, released Dark Before Dawn in 2015. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Their 2018 album Ember continued their success with tracks like “Red Cold River” and “Torn in Two,” which helped the album debut at number three.
