About Bea Miller

Beatrice Annika Miller, widely known as Bea Miller, was born on February 7, 1999, in Maplewood, New Jersey. She first gained prominence as a singer and actress when she competed on season two of The X Factor (US) in 2012. At just 13 years old, Miller impressed the judges and audience alike, making it to the top nine before being eliminated. Mentored by Britney Spears on the show, Miller’s performances of songs like Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” showcased her vocal talent and potential. Despite her early elimination, the exposure on The X Factor became the launchpad for her future music career.

Following her time on The X Factor, Miller signed a deal with Syco Music and Hollywood Records in 2013, marking a significant milestone in her career. She quickly made a name for herself in the pop scene, releasing her debut EP, Young Blood, in 2014. The EP performed well, reaching number two on the iTunes pop albums chart and peaking at number 64 on the Billboard 200. Miller’s raw and emotional vocals, combined with lyrics that resonated with her young audience, helped solidify her position as an emerging pop artist. Her debut album, Not an Apology, followed in 2015 and peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200, featuring tracks like “Young Blood” and “Enemy Fire.”

Miller’s musical journey continued to evolve with her second studio album, Aurora, released in 2018. Prior to the album, she released three EPs: Chapter One: Blue, Chapter Two: Red, and Chapter Three: Yellow, each representing different phases of emotions and personal growth. Aurora combined the tracks from these EPs with five new songs, creating a deeply personal project that explored themes such as empowerment, existential boredom, and reclaiming negative labels. The album’s standout track, “S.L.U.T.,” gained attention for its message of self-empowerment, turning a derogatory term into an acronym for “Sweet Little Unforgettable Thing.”

In 2018, Miller also made waves with her collaboration on NOTD’s single “I Wanna Know,” which became a hit internationally, earning platinum status in several countries. Miller’s versatility as an artist was further demonstrated through her ability to blend pop with electronic beats, allowing her to reach a broader audience.

As her career progressed, Miller continued releasing new music and collaborating with various artists. In 2019, she dropped the singles “It’s Not U It’s Me” featuring 6lack and “Feel Something,” both of which garnered significant attention. She also toured extensively, headlining her Nice To Meet U Tour and opening for major acts like Selena Gomez on her Revival Tour. By this time, she had fully embraced her independent spirit, launching her own record label, Gauche Records, in partnership with ADA, a distribution company under Warner Music Group.

In 2020, Miller released her EP Elated! featuring the lead single “Wisdom Teeth,” a raw and energetic anthem. She also made notable contributions to the League of Legends franchise, providing the single “Playground” for the animated series Arcane.

Throughout her career, Bea Miller has continuously reinvented herself, exploring various musical styles and personal themes. From her early days on The X Factor to her current status as a multi-faceted artist and independent label owner, Miller has remained a force in the music industry, captivating listeners with her authenticity and emotional depth.
