Az Chike

AzChike, born Damaria Kayshawn Walker on July 28, 1995, is a rising voice in West Coast hip-hop known for his raw lyrics, energetic delivery, and unapologetic honesty. Hailing from South Central Los Angeles, AzChike’s music is shaped by the places that raised him—Watts, Compton, Long Beach, and the block around 86th and Figueroa. These diverse and often harsh environments gave him the perspective and voice that now define his sound.

He started making music seriously in 2013, co-founding the AzCult collective alongside longtime collaborators AzSwaye and AzBenzz. His breakout moment came in 2017 with the viral single “Burn Rubber Again,” a bass-heavy, high-octane anthem that put him on the map and landed him stages at major festivals like Rolling Loud.

In 2019, AzChike dropped his debut album Rich & Ratchet under Atlantic Records, a project that blended West Coast bounce with street realism. He’s since worked with heavy hitters like Shoreline Mafia, 1TakeJay, and more recently, appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 album GNX on the track “Peekaboo”—a move that signaled his arrival in the broader national conversation.
