Asche, born Amir Israil Aschenberg, is a German rapper whose music hits with raw intensity and hard-hitting authenticity. Hailing from Bochum, he brings a diverse cultural background—Chechen, Ashkenazi Jewish, and Ukrainian—into his craft, adding depth to both his sound and story. With a background in martial arts, Asche’s lyrical delivery is as disciplined and forceful as his personal ethos.

He began carving his path in the rap scene in 2008 with the release of “Das erste Mal,” but it was the 2013 EP Mephisto and 2015’s debut album Barcodes that established him as a compelling voice from the streets. His unfiltered narratives of hardship and survival earned him a loyal underground following. After a brief break, Asche returned in 2018, joining SadiQ’s label Seiten auf Null and experimenting with more melodic, autotuned flows.

That same year marked a turning point as he began collaborating with Kollegah under Alpha Music Empire. Tracks like “YAYO” and “Offenes Verdeck” laid the foundation for their joint 2021 album Natural Born Killas, which topped the German charts. Though the duo later parted ways professionally, the project remains a highlight in both artists’ careers.

Asche isn’t without controversy—his claimed Chechen roots were publicly challenged, prompting a bold, 20-minute lyrical response in the track HIStory, where he owned up to certain exaggerations in his past.

In 2025, he took his talents to the screen, starring in the prison drama Haps and contributing the soundtrack “Willkommen im Haps.” Always evolving, Asche continues to drop projects under his alter ego Aschkobar, proving he’s not just surviving in German hip-hop—he’s redefining it.
