Armlock

Armlock is an Australian indie rock duo from Melbourne, consisting of Simon Lam and Hamish Mitchell. Their musical journey began more than a decade ago when the two met while studying jazz at Monash University. Although their early work explored electronic music through projects like I’lls and Couture, and Lam gained recognition with the electro-pop duo Kllo, Armlock represents a return to guitar-driven songwriting. Their sound blends their electronic roots with indie rock elements, creating a fresh, distinctive style.

Armlock’s debut EP, Trust (2021), introduced their unique musical approach—fusing lo-fi indie rock with subtle electronic influences. With introspective lyrics and minimalist instrumentation, the EP laid the foundation for the duo’s musical evolution. Their follow-up album, Seashell Angel Lucky Charm (2024), released under Run For Cover Records, takes their sound even further. This seven-track, 18-minute album features crystalline guitars, tight rhythms, and warm harmonies, enveloping listeners in a dreamy, atmospheric experience. The duo’s approach to songwriting is driven by experimentation, focusing on emotional resonance over traditional song structures.

Armlock’s music is known for its ethereal quality and reflective themes, often delving into personal growth and emotional exploration.
