Arlo Parks

Arlo Parks, born Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho on August 9, 2000, in London, England, is a British singer-songwriter and poet celebrated for her soulful indie-pop sound and introspective lyrics. Raised in Hammersmith, West London, Parks has a rich cultural background with Nigerian, Chadian, and French roots, and she was fluent in French before English. Her musical journey began in 2018 when she started uploading demos to BBC Music Introducing, quickly gaining recognition for her poetic lyricism and emotive vocals.

Her debut single, “Cola,” released in November 2018, marked the start of her rise in the music scene. The following year, she dropped her first EP, Super Sad Generation, which resonated with listeners due to its candid exploration of emotions and identity. Parks further solidified her presence in the indie music world with her second EP, Sophie, released in 2019.

In 2021, she released her highly acclaimed debut studio album, Collapsed in Sunbeams. The album not only won critical praise but also earned the 2021 Mercury Prize for Best Album.
