Ali Gatie is an Iraqi–Canadian singer and songwriter whose heartfelt lyrics and smooth blend of R&B and pop have touched fans around the world. Born on May 31, 1997, in Aden, Yemen, to Iraqi parents, he spent part of his childhood in Abu Dhabi before moving to Mississauga, Ontario, at age 10. It was there that his passion for music truly began to take shape. Gatie started releasing songs on SoundCloud in 2016, slowly building a loyal following with his emotionally raw and relatable tracks.

His big break came in 2019 with the release of “It’s You,” a tender ballad that quickly went viral and landed on the Billboard Hot 100, while also charting internationally in countries like Germany and New Zealand. The song’s success opened major doors, leading to a record deal with Warner Records and positioning him as one of the most promising new voices in R&B.
