Al2 El Aldeano

Aldo Roberto Rodríguez Baquero, better known as Al2 El Aldeano, was born on March 17, 1983, in Havana, Cuba. A rapper, songwriter, and activist, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in Cuban hip-hop. His raw, socially conscious lyrics have made him a defining figure in the underground rap scene, speaking out against issues such as poverty, inequality, and government oppression.

In 2003, Al2 co-founded the legendary rap duo Los Aldeanos with Bian Oscar Rodríguez Galá (El B). Their fearless approach to addressing Cuba’s harsh realities quickly earned them both a massive following and government scrutiny. Their music became a voice for the voiceless, earning them recognition beyond Cuba, including a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of the “50 Greatest Spanish-Language Rappers.”

After years of success with Los Aldeanos, Al2 launched his solo career, releasing his debut album En3 Telas Musas in 2005. Over the years, he continued to refine his craft with projects like Poesía y Corazón (2005), Miseria Humana (2008), and Nómadas (2022). His music blends poetic introspection with unfiltered social commentary, making him a unique voice in Latin American hip-hop.

In 2024, Al2 marked ten years of sobriety, a milestone he credits to his passion for music and devotion to family. His journey has inspired fans worldwide, proving that resilience and authenticity are the keys to longevity in the industry.
