Akasa Singh

Akasa Singh, known mononymously as Akasa, is an Indian singer and performer known for her energetic presence in Bollywood and independent music. Born on April 2, 1994, in Mumbai, she grew up in a creative household—her father, Arvinder Singh, is a singer and music director, while her mother, Ameeta Singh, is a trained Kathak dancer. With music in her blood, Akasa developed a passion for singing at a young age.

Her professional journey began when she joined Mika Singh’s band as the only female vocalist among ten male members, a role that helped her refine her performance skills. In 2014, she gained wider recognition by participating in India’s Raw Star, where she was mentored by Himesh Reshammiya. True to his word, Reshammiya later helped launch her Bollywood career with the song Kheech Meri Photo from the 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam, which became a viral hit.

Expanding beyond playback singing, Akasa ventured into the pop music scene in 2018 with her debut single Thug Ranjha, which racked up millions of views within weeks and solidified her as a rising star. She also explored television hosting with MTV Beats’ Secret Side.

Her versatility extends to international collaborations, including a duet with Ricky Martin on Vente Pa’ Ca in 2017. In 2021, she showcased her personality beyond music by joining Bigg Boss 15. With her infectious energy and evolving artistry, Akasa continues to make her mark in the Indian music industry.
