Zamdane

Zamdane, born Ayoub Zaidane on September 25, 1997, in Marrakech, Morocco, is a rising star in the French rap and trap scene, known for his introspective lyrics and distinctive blend of traditional Moroccan influences with modern French hip-hop.

Growing up in the vibrant Bab Doukkala neighborhood of Marrakech, Zamdane was introduced to the French language by his father, a multilingual tour guide. In 2015, at 17, he moved to Istres, France, to study economics, but it was there that he discovered French hip-hop, particularly artists like Nekfeu, which sparked his passion for music and set him on the path to becoming a rapper.

Zamdane gained attention in 2017 with his breakout track “Favaro,” and quickly became known in the French rap scene, participating in freestyle sessions like Le Règlement and Grünt #34. Between 2018 and 2019, he released several well-received EPs, including “Yung D/C,” “20’s,” and “Affamé,” which helped solidify his growing reputation. His 2020 release, “Chrysalis,” was a double EP that showcased his evolving sound.

In 2022, Zamdane released his debut studio album, “Couleur de ma peine,” which featured collaborations with artists like Dinos, Soso Maness, and Jazzy Bazz, and charted in the top five on the French Albums Chart. He also demonstrated his commitment to social causes by organizing fundraising events for SOS Méditerranée.

His second album, “Solsad,” released in 2024, was a commercial success, reaching the third spot on the French Albums Chart. Zamdane’s music continues to captivate listeners with its emotional depth and innovative fusion of genres.
