He started writing songs at the age of 14 and continued to hone his craft while serving in the U.S. Navy. During his eight-year service, he began uploading his music to YouTube, where his raw, heartfelt performances, often recorded with an iPhone, gained significant attention.

Bryan’s debut album, DeAnn (2019), a tribute to his late mother, was written and recorded in just two months. It was followed by Elisabeth (2020), recorded in a repurposed barn behind his home. His first public concert took place in Medford, Oregon, in October 2019. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2021 and signed with Warner Records, marking the beginning of his major-label career.

In 2022, Bryan released American Heartbreak, his major-label debut album, which peaked at number five on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album featured the hit single “Something in the Orange,” which became his breakthrough hit, reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bryan’s fourth album, Zach Bryan (2023), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. It included the Grammy-winning duet “I Remember Everything” featuring Kacey Musgraves, which topped the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs charts. The album’s success earned Bryan widespread recognition and solidified his place in the country music scene.

In 2024, Bryan released his fifth studio album, The Great American Bar Scene, featuring 19 tracks and collaborations with artists like Noeline Hofmann, John Moreland, John Mayer, and Bruce Springsteen. The lead single, “Pink Skies,” debuted at number six on the Billboard Hot 100, and the album was promoted through an innovative campaign, sharing samples in 23 bars across the United States.

Throughout his career, Bryan has been honored with the Academy of Country Music Award for New Male Artist of the Year and four Billboard Music Awards. His self-titled album was nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards, with “I Remember Everything” winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
