Young Miko

María Victoria Ramírez de Arellano Cardona, better known by her stage name Young Miko, is a Puerto Rican artist who has made waves in the Latin trap scene. Born on November 8, 1997, in Añasco, Puerto Rico, Young Miko initially made a name for herself in sports, representing Puerto Rico in the 2014 U-17 Women’s World Cup as a promising footballer. However, her passion for music led her to transition to the music scene in 2018, where she began uploading rap tracks to SoundCloud under her current moniker.

In 2022, Young Miko debuted with the EP Trap Kitty, blending Latin trap, reggaeton, and R&B, drawing inspiration from anime and urban culture. Her unique style quickly garnered attention, and in April 2024, she released her debut studio album Att., which featured collaborations with top artists like Feid, Jowell & Randy, Villano Antillano, Elena Rose, and Dei V. One of her standout tracks, “Classy 101,” earned her a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 99 in July 2023.

As an openly lesbian artist, Young Miko stands out not only for her music but also for her role in pushing for greater inclusivity in Latin trap. Her music often tackles themes of sexuality, city life, and the struggles of modern-day youth, all delivered with confidence and swagger. Her impact was further solidified when she received a Grammy nomination for Best Música Urbana Album in 2024, the only woman in the category. As of March 2025, Young Miko continues to break new ground, inspiring fans and reshaping the urban music landscape.
