Jaylien Arthur-Henry Cantrell, known professionally as YN Jay, is a dynamic American rapper from Flint, Michigan, celebrated for his humorous and offbeat style. Born on July 23, 1999, in Flint, Jay grew up in the Beecher neighborhood, where he was deeply influenced by his older brother Gabe, whose untimely death had a profound impact on him. Motivated by this loss, YN Jay began rapping at the age of 10, and throughout his teenage years, he was known for recording tracks daily.

In 2019, YN Jay released his debut mixtape MVP, which set the stage for his rise in the rap scene. However, it was his 2020 viral hit “Coochie” featuring Louie Ray that truly put him on the map, especially gaining traction on platforms like TikTok. This success led to a signing with Alamo Records, marking a significant step in his career. In 2021, he released his debut studio album Ninja Warrior, followed by Coochie Chronicles later that year, both of which solidified his place in Michigan’s rap scene.
