About yeule

Yeule, the musical alter ego of Nat Ćmiel, is a Singaporean-born, London-based artist who has made a name for themselves by blending ambient, glitch, and Asian post-pop influences. Born on December 16, 1997, Ćmiel’s musical journey began at a young age, first playing the piano at six before branching out to guitar and drums. During their teenage years, Ćmiel was involved in a jazz band called Riot Diet, covering iconic artists like Ella Fitzgerald and the Pixies, which set the stage for their evolving artistic vision.

Growing up, Ćmiel immersed themselves in online communities, MMORPGs, and platforms like Tumblr, which deeply influenced their unique approach to music and art. They started releasing music under the name Yeule in 2012, drawing inspiration from 90s and early 2000s alternative acts such as My Chemical Romance, Avril Lavigne, and Radiohead. This laid the foundation for Yeule’s distinctive experimental pop style.

Their 2023 album Glitch Princess exemplifies their innovative sound, blending cyber aesthetics with raw, emotional exploration around themes of identity and digital intimacy. Yeule’s music has struck a chord with listeners, offering catharsis to those navigating their own emotional and mental challenges.

Beyond their music, Ćmiel is a versatile artist, also working as a painter, performance artist, and coder. With a Fine Arts degree from Central Saint Martins in London, they continue to break boundaries in both the digital and artistic realms, constantly challenging the norms of self-expression and reality.
