WOOZI (우지)

Lee Ji-hoon, better known as Woozi, was born on November 22, 1996, in Busan, South Korea. From a young age, Woozi showed a deep love for music, mastering instruments like the clarinet, piano, and guitar. This classical training became the foundation for his future career in the music world. After successfully auditioning for Pledis Entertainment in 2011, Woozi debuted as a member of the boy group SEVENTEEN on May 26, 2015, with the catchy single “Adore U.”

Within SEVENTEEN, Woozi wears many hats. As the leader of the Vocal Team and the group’s primary producer, he has had a huge hand in shaping SEVENTEEN’s signature sound. Impressively, he’s composed and produced over 80% of their songs. Fans admire his incredible attention to detail and dedication, affectionately nicknaming him “Documentary” for how deeply involved he is in the creative process.

Beyond the group, Woozi has also collaborated with other artists. One highlight was co-writing “Downpour” for the popular project group I.O.I in 2017, which received much praise. In January 2022, Woozi showcased his solo artistry by releasing his first mixtape, “Ruby,” proving his versatility as a musician.

In 2025, Woozi teamed up with SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi to form the sub-unit Hoshi X Woozi (HxW). Their debut single album “Beam,” released in March, highlights their strong friendship and musical chemistry.

Known for his leadership and unwavering commitment, Woozi continues to be a driving force behind SEVENTEEN’s success. As he prepares for his upcoming mandatory military service in late 2025, fans eagerly celebrate the impact he’s made on K-pop.
