VEK, born Bibek Waiba Lama, is a rising star in Nepal’s music scene, known for his soul-stirring lyrics and a sound that effortlessly blends modern pop with a touch of traditional Nepali flair. Raised in Kathmandu, his love for music sparked early—thanks to his older brother’s rock collection. His first taste of performing came in grade 8 on a Radio Nepal children’s show, but it wasn’t until high school, when he stepped in as a last-minute frontman for a band, that he truly fell in love with the stage.

VEK’s breakthrough came with his unforgettable blind audition on The Voice of Nepal, where his smooth take on “Despacito” earned him a spot on Coach Deep’s team. He rode that momentum all the way to the semi-finals, quickly becoming a fan favorite. Soon after, he signed with Classic X Presentation and dropped his debut single “Kina,” produced by Stonecutter. The track paved the way for a string of heartfelt hits like “Eklai Jiuna Sikney,” “Sayad,” and the infectious “Lai Bari Lai.”

In 2021, he released his debut album Sampanna—a deeply personal project filled with raw emotion and catchy melodies. Songs like “Sakina” and “Keep Kissing” stood out, while his collaboration with Yabesh Thapa on “Mayalu” solidified his place among the most exciting voices in Nepali pop.

Now based in Kathmandu, VEK continues to grow both artistically and globally. With each new release, he’s proving himself not just as a singer, but as a storyteller with heart—and a bright future ahead.
