Tyson Yoshi

Tyson Yoshi, born Ben Cheng Tsun Yin (程浚彥) on July 17, 1994, in Hong Kong, is an independent singer, songwriter, and creative force redefining the local music scene. Known for his soulful fusion of hip-hop, R&B, and pop, Tyson brings raw emotion and personal storytelling to every track.

Educated in the UK—first at Sedbergh School and later at the University of Brighton where he studied interior architecture—Tyson eventually returned to Hong Kong, trading blueprints for beats. He made his musical debut in 2018 with “To My Queen,” but it was his 2019 breakout hit “Christy”—a tender tribute to his longtime girlfriend—that resonated with fans across Asia, racking up over 20 million views on YouTube.

His debut album 1st arrived the same year, marking him as one of Hong Kong’s most promising independent voices. With a sound that blends confessional lyrics, smooth vocals, and modern urban production, Tyson quickly grew an international following, achieving over two million streams on Spotify in more than 100 countries.

Outside of music, Tyson Yoshi wears many hats—he’s a model, music video director, and an outspoken advocate for creative independence in the industry. In June 2024, he made headlines again—not for a chart-topper, but for a heartfelt on-stage proposal to Christy during a concert in Vancouver, showcasing his genuine and vulnerable side.
