Ty Dolla $ign, born Tyrone William Griffin Jr. on April 13, 1982, is an acclaimed American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Los Angeles, California. His breakthrough came with his feature on YG’s 2010 hit “Toot It and Boot It,” which marked his first entry into the Billboard Hot 100. Following this success, he signed with Atlantic Records in 2012 and later joined Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Entertainment.

Ty Dolla $ign gained further mainstream recognition with his debut commercial EP, Beach House EP (2014), which included the hit singles “Paranoid” featuring B.o.B and “Or Nah” featuring Wiz Khalifa and DJ Mustard. These tracks established him as a prominent artist, with “Paranoid” reaching number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and “Or Nah” earning a sextuple platinum certification from the RIAA.

His debut studio album, Free TC (2015), peaked at number 14 on the Billboard 200 and produced several platinum-certified singles, including “Blasé” featuring Future and Rae Sremmurd, and “Saved” featuring E-40. Raised in South Central Los Angeles, Ty Dolla Vign was exposed to music at an early age through his father, a member of the band Lakeside, and later became involved in gang culture. He began his music career in the early 2000s, forming the duo Ty & Kory before pursuing solo ventures.
