About Turnpike Troubadours
The Turnpike Troubadours are a celebrated country music band from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, known for blending gritty storytelling with a rich mix of honky-tonk, roots rock, and bluegrass. Formed in 2005 by frontman Evan Felker and bassist R.C. Edwards, the band quickly carved out a place in the Red Dirt and Americana music scenes, becoming fan favorites for their raw, heartfelt lyrics and Southern authenticity.
In 2007, they launched their own label, Bossier City Records, and released their debut album Bossier City. Their breakout came with Diamonds & Gasoline in 2010, followed by a string of critically acclaimed records like Goodbye Normal Street (2012) and their self-titled 2015 album, which reached No. 17 on the Billboard 200. By 2017, A Long Way from Your Heart took them even higher, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and solidifying their status as one of the genre’s most respected acts.
After stepping back in 2019 due to personal struggles, the band returned in 2022 stronger than ever, reuniting for a series of sold-out shows and releasing the 2023 album A Cat in the Rain. This comeback project showcased a more mature sound, without losing the heart and soul fans fell in love with.
With a lineup that includes Evan Felker, R.C. Edwards, Kyle Nix, Ryan Engleman, Gabriel Pearson, and Hank Early, the Turnpike Troubadours remain a powerful force in modern country music. Their recent cameo in Yellowstone brought their music to an even wider audience, proving that authentic storytelling never goes out of style.
