TiaCorine, born Tia Corine Thompson Shults on June 10, 1993, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is an innovative American rapper and songwriter known for her eclectic and genre-defying sound. She gained widespread attention with hit singles like “Lotto” and “FreakyT,” which helped cement her place in the music scene.

Growing up in a multicultural household, Tia was influenced by a wide range of musical genres, from hip-hop and pop to rock and anime-inspired sounds. Her father is of Japanese and African American descent, while her mother is Shoshone, contributing to her unique artistic perspective.

Tia’s musical journey began in her youth, where she participated in local talent shows and later pursued music education, learning to play the flute and piano. She attended Winston-Salem State University, earning a degree in exercise physiology. After a brief hiatus to raise her daughter, Tia returned to the music scene, releasing her first single, “Cabbage,” in 2017.

In 2020, Tia released her debut EP 34Corine, which featured the viral track “Lotto” and gained major attention on TikTok. She followed up with The Saga of 34Corine in 2021 and Pussy later that year. Her debut album, I Can’t Wait, dropped in September 2022, blending pop, ska, and dance elements, further showcasing her versatility.

In 2023, Tia was honored as a member of the XXL Freshman Class, a recognition of her growing influence in the industry. Known for her dynamic flow and fearless approach to experimenting with different sounds, TiaCorine continues to push musical boundaries and shape the future of hip-hop.
