The Red Clay Strays

The Red Clay Strays are an exciting country rock band from Mobile, Alabama, known for their unique fusion of Southern rock, Americana, and gospel influences. Formed in 2016, the band evolved from a cover band and quickly carved out a distinctive sound. The current lineup consists of Brandon Coleman (lead vocals, guitar), Drew Nix (electric guitar, harmonica, vocals), Zach Rishel (electric guitar), Andrew Bishop (bass), John Hall (drums), and Sevans Henderson (keyboard, organ).

Their breakthrough came with the 2022 single “Wondering Why,” which went viral on TikTok and led to the band’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 93 in December 2023. The track also dominated the Americana Singles chart for six consecutive weeks and was featured on their 2022 album Moment of Truth. In 2024, the Red Clay Strays signed with RCA Records and released their second album, Made by These Moments, produced by the renowned Dave Cobb.

The band’s rapid rise has been accompanied by numerous accolades, including winning Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Americana Music Honors & Awards and a Vocal Group of the Year nomination at the 2024 CMA Awards. Known for their high-energy performances, they’ve shared the stage with major artists like The Rolling Stones and have played at iconic venues such as the Grand Ole Opry and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Their music continues to captivate audiences, combining heartfelt storytelling with a vibrant Southern sound.
