Clériton Sávio Santos Silva, known professionally as Teto, is a Brazilian trapper, singer, and composer. He was born on October 19, 2001, in Jacobina, Bahia, Teto’s early life was steeped in music, thanks to his father, who frequently played and sang genres such as pagode, axé, and MPB at home. This early exposure sparked his passion for music, leading him to start composing songs at the tender age of twelve. Despite his humble beginnings, recording in his bedroom, Teto’s musical previews began garnering significant attention, catapulting him into the spotlight.

Teto’s career officially began in 2018 with the release of a few songs, including “Fico Famoso” and “Say Yes,” which did not initially achieve success and were later removed from digital platforms. However, his persistence paid off when he caught the attention of the record label Hash Produções in late 2019. Although he recorded numerous songs with the label and participated in the mixtape “Bagulhão,” Teto felt frustrated by the delay in his debut and left the label in search of better opportunities. The release of “M4,” featuring Matuê, in January 2021 was a turning point for Teto. The single quickly climbed the charts, reaching the Top 15 on Spotify in Brazil and maintaining a Top 5 position for over two months. This success was followed by the release of his first EP, “Prévias.zip,” on April 1, 2021. Distributed by Sony Music Brazil, the EP’s tracks received millions of views, with three songs reaching the highest positions on YouTube’s “Trending” section. The EP also topped the Apple Music Brazil and iTunes Egypt charts, further solidifying Teto’s presence in the music industry.

In recognition of his rising popularity, Spotify named Teto as the “RADAR” artist of April 2021. His live performance during the “Quer Voar Experience” by 30PRAUM, alongside Matuê, garnered significant attention, achieving a national record for the first national music video premiere of 2021. Teto’s innovative approach continued with the release of the single “Groupies” on September 28, 2021, which premiered in Cinemark theaters across Brazil, breaking records with 133,000 viewers.

Teto’s subsequent releases, including “Mustang Preto” and a re-recording of “A Lua,” continued to chart in Brazil and internationally. His mini-tour “Revoada USA” in November 2021, alongside MC Hariel and Matuê, aimed to promote his career in the United States, highlighting his growing international appeal.
