Terry Sanchez Wallace Jr., better known as Tee Grizzley, is a Detroit-born rapper whose gritty lyrics and powerful storytelling have made him one of the most compelling voices in hip-hop today. Born on March 23, 1994, Tee grew up on the west side of Detroit, raised by his grandmother while his parents were often in and out of prison. Despite a turbulent upbringing, he broke barriers in his family by becoming the first to attend college, enrolling at Michigan State University to study finance and accounting.

However, financial struggles during college led him down a different path. In 2014, Tee was arrested for a series of dorm burglaries, later serving time in both Michigan and Kentucky. While incarcerated, he began writing music as a form of release and self-reflection—a decision that would soon change his life.

After his release in late 2016, Tee Grizzley dropped his debut single, “First Day Out,” a raw, unfiltered track that exploded in popularity almost overnight. The video racked up millions of views on YouTube and put him on the radar of major labels and artists. His momentum continued with the release of his mixtape My Moment in 2017, followed by high-profile collaborations with Lil Yachty and Meek Mill. His debut studio album Activated reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200, cementing his presence in the rap scene.
