Born on November 23, 1980, in Kolkata, West Bengal, he was raised in a musical family—his father, Nand Kumar Bagchi, is a musician, and his mother, Sharmistha Dash, is a singer. Immersed in music from a young age, Tanishk pursued his education at Frank Anthony Public School and Scottish Church College before stepping into the music industry. He started his professional journey with the Bengali album City Life in 2007 but rose to fame in Bollywood with the 2015 chartbuster “Banno” from Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Since then, he has worked closely with top labels like T-Series, Zee Music, and Sony Music India.

Tanishk is especially known for his signature style of blending traditional melodies with modern beats, mastering both original compositions and remixes of classic Bollywood songs. Some of his most popular tracks include “Bolna,” “Ve Maahi,” “Dilbar,” “Aankh Maarey,” and “Lut Gaye,” showcasing his ability to craft infectious melodies across genres. He has collaborated with some of the biggest voices in the industry, including Neha Kakkar, Jubin Nautiyal, and Dhvani Bhanushali. While his remixes have occasionally drawn criticism, Tanishk’s impact on the Hindi film music scene is undeniable.
