Sandeep Singh Sidhu, better known by his stage name Sunny Malton, is a prominent Canadian rapper and singer in the Punjabi music industry. Born on November 15, 1989, into a Canadian Punjabi Sikh family, Malton grew up in Malton, Mississauga. He attended Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School and worked at Canadian Tire before embarking on his successful music career. Malton’s journey into the limelight is marked by his collaborations with some of the biggest names in Punjabi music, most notably Sidhu Moose Wala.

Malton’s career took a significant turn in 2016 when he released a freestyle diss track titled “Jus Remain Humble Doe,” targeting several well-known artists including Fateh, Jus Reign, Lilly Singh, and Humble the Poet. This track showcased Malton’s lyrical prowess and set the stage for his future in the industry. However, it was his collaboration with Sidhu Moose Wala that catapulted him to mainstream success. The duo’s track “Issa Jatt,” released in October 2021, became a massive hit and solidified their partnership. Malton’s signature phrase “Imma Imma Brown Boy” in the song “So High,” another collaboration with Moose Wala, became iconic and is now synonymous with his identity.

One notable feud involved Sikander Kahlon, who dissed Malton over an Instagram issue with Moose Wala. Malton responded with scathing remarks on Twitter, leading to Kahlon releasing an EP filled with diss tracks aimed at Malton. Another significant conflict was within the Brown Boys group, particularly with Byg Byrd and BigBoiDeep, over allegations of unpaid dues and song leaks. This feud played out publicly on social media, capturing the attention of fans and media alike.

Following the tragic death of Sidhu Moose Wala in May 2022, Malton paid tribute to his late friend with the release of “Letter to Sidhu” in November 2022 and “Signs” in January 2023. These tracks reflected Malton’s grief and respect for Moose Wala, highlighting the deep bond they shared.

In his first public interview after Moose Wala’s death, Malton expressed his ongoing struggle with the loss, revealing that it took him nine months to come to terms with his friend’s passing. Despite these personal challenges, Malton continues to produce music that resonates with his audience, maintaining his position as a significant figure in the Punjabi music industry.
