Sky Rompiendo

Sky Rompiendo, born Alejandro Ramírez Suárez on May 23, 1992, in Bogotá, Colombia, is a highly influential music producer, songwriter, and DJ whose work has shaped the Latin urban music landscape. Growing up in Medellín, Sky developed a passion for music production at the age of 11 when he first encountered the audio editing software Fruity Loops. By 2011, he had launched his career, collaborating with prominent Colombian artists such as Shako, Yandar & Yostin, and, most notably, J Balvin. During the production of “En lo Oscuro” with J Balvin, he adopted the stage name “Sky Rompiendo,” inspired by the phrase “rompiendo el bajo” in the track.

Sky’s partnership with J Balvin became a defining element of his career. The two worked together on the album La Familia (2013), which dominated the charts in Colombia and ranked highly on the U.S. Top Latin Albums chart. His role in producing the hit single “Ginza” (2015) further solidified his position in the industry, as the track stayed at the top of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart for an impressive 21 weeks. Over the years, Sky contributed to J Balvin’s albums like Energía (2016), Vibras (2018), and Colores (2020), making a significant impact on Latin music.

Sky Rompiendo has also collaborated with a wide range of global artists, including Bad Bunny, Karol G, Ozuna, Juanes, and Anitta. His six Latin Grammy Awards are a testament to his immense influence in the music world. In 2024, Sky expanded his artistic reach further, working with Spanish artists like Bad Gyal and Sen Senra, showcasing his commitment to innovation and international collaboration.
