Crown Uzama, better known by his stage name Shallipopi, is a trailblazing Nigerian artist making waves in the Afrobeats and street-pop scene. Born on April 12, 2000, in Benin City, Edo State, Shallipopi’s musical roots were planted early through freestyle videos he began sharing on TikTok and social media as far back as 2015. With a sound that fuses street energy with digital swagger, he steadily built a cult following. Tracks like “Gra Gra,” “Power,” and “Shaka” set the tone for his gritty, genre-blending style.

His big break came in 2023 with the viral hit “Elon Musk,” a catchy, futuristic anthem that caught fire across Nigeria. November 2023 saw the release of Presido La Pluto, his first full-length album, which shot to number one on both TurnTable and Apple Music charts in Nigeria. Even in the face of controversy — including a fraud conviction in 2023 — Shallipopi stayed focused, paying a fine and returning stronger with Shakespopi in April 2024. The album’s hit single “ASAP” topped charts, proving he wasn’t just a viral fluke.
