Zane Steckler, professionally known as Sematary, is a trailblazing American rapper, songwriter, and record producer born on December 22, 2000, in Northern California. As the founder and frontman of the underground collective Haunted Mound, Sematary has carved out a unique niche in the music world with his signature fusion of horrorcore, drill, and witch house elements. His raw, lo-fi production and distorted vocals have become his trademark, setting him apart in the modern rap scene.

Growing up in Placer County, California, Sematary’s musical journey began at the age of 11 when he started experimenting with music production using GarageBand and Logic Pro. Inspired by the work of artists like Salem, Chief Keef, Black Kray, and Yung Lean, a pivotal moment came when he attended a Yung Lean concert at the age of 15, solidifying his desire to pursue a career in rap.

In 2019, Sematary released his debut collaborative mixtape, Grave House, alongside childhood friend and fellow rapper Ghost Mountain. That same year, he dropped his solo debut, Rainbow Bridge, which established his unique sound. Subsequent projects, including Rainbow Bridge 3 (2021) and Butcher House (2023), have earned him widespread recognition for their intense, boundary-pushing sound.

Sematary’s work is not just about music but about creating an immersive experience. His music often incorporates horror-themed visuals and narratives, drawing comparisons to cult B-horror movies. In 2025, he executive produced Ghost Mountain’s debut mixtape, October Country, continuing to shape the underground scene with his creative vision.
