Sat l’Artificier, born Karim Haddouche on September 16, 1975, in Marseille, France, is a celebrated rapper of Algerian heritage, widely recognized for his influential role in French hip-hop. Growing up in the diverse and vibrant city of Marseille, Sat developed a deep passion for hip-hop, a genre that would come to shape his career. In 1994, he co-founded the groundbreaking group Fonky Family alongside notable artists like Le Rat Luciano, Don Choa, and Menzo. Their debut album Si Dieu veut… (1997) was a major commercial success, earning double platinum status and cementing their place in the French rap scene.
After Fonky Family’s success, Sat launched a solo career, releasing his debut album Dans mon monde in 2002. He continued to build on his solo career with the release of Second souffle (2008) and Diaspora (2010), albums that further showcased his introspective lyrics and connection to his cultural roots.
