Straight Outta Srinagar (SOS) is an innovative hip-hop duo from Srinagar, Kashmir, formed in 2020. Comprising Tufail Nazir and Syed Arsalan (Aatankki), SOS quickly became key figures in the region’s emerging music scene. Their blend of hard-hitting beats and socially conscious lyrics has helped elevate Kashmiri hip-hop to the international stage, tackling themes of struggle, resilience, and hope in a region that has faced significant challenges.

In 2021, SOS took a significant step forward by signing with Azadi Records, marking the release of their debut EP, “Keef.” The project, which includes standout tracks like “Czawul” and “Srinagar Anthem,” has been praised for its authenticity and depth. Their music resonates with listeners not only in Kashmir but also globally, providing a powerful voice for a community that is often overlooked in mainstream music.

SOS’s impact extends beyond music. They co-founded the Koshur Nizam Collective with fellow artist Ahmer, a platform dedicated to fostering high-quality hip-hop in Kashmir.
