Plan B

Plan B, born Benjamin Paul Ballance-Drew on October 22, 1983, in Forest Gate, East London, is a versatile British artist renowned for his work as a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and filmmaker. He first made waves in the music scene in the mid-2000s with his gritty debut album Who Needs Actions When You Got Words (2006), which highlighted his raw lyrical talent and captivating storytelling.

His breakthrough came with the 2010 album The Defamation of Strickland Banks, which marked a shift in his musical style towards soul and R&B. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and featured the chart-topping single “She Said,” solidifying Plan B as one of the UK’s most influential artists.

In 2012, Plan B expanded his artistic reach by writing, directing, and starring in the film iLL Manors, which was also the basis for his third album of the same name. This project further showcased his creative versatility and ability to blend music with visual storytelling.

After a brief hiatus, Plan B made his return in 2018 with Heaven Before All Hell Breaks Loose. The album, which signaled a shift away from hip-hop towards a more introspective, soulful sound, reflected his personal growth.
