Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas is the stage name of Nicholas Jerry Jonas, born on September 16, 1992, in Dallas, Texas. He is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. Jonas’s journey in the entertainment industry began at a remarkably young age. He started acting on Broadway at just seven years old, showcasing his talent in productions such as “Beauty and the Beast.” By the time he was six, he had caught the attention of a professional show business manager while accompanying his mother to a barber shop. This early start led to his debut single, “Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer),” which was released in 2003. This initial success paved the way for Jonas to sign with Columbia Records, where he eventually formed a band with his older brothers, Kevin and Joe, known as the Jonas Brothers.

The Jonas Brothers released their debut studio album, “It’s About Time,” in 2006, but the album faced challenges due to limited promotional support from Columbia Records. Despite this, it sold over 1.7 million copies. The brothers gained significant traction when they signed with Hollywood Records, leading to their self-titled second album in 2007, which became a breakthrough success. Their hit single “S.O.S” marked their first entry into the Billboard Hot 100’s top twenty, propelling them to stardom. During this period, the Jonas Brothers became prominent figures on the Disney Channel, starring in the musical television film “Camp Rock” in 2008, alongside Demi Lovato. The film’s soundtrack and their own Disney series, “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream,” further solidified their status as teen idols.

The band’s commercial success continued with their third studio album, “A Little Bit Longer,” released in 2008. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and featured the lead single “Burnin’ Up,” which reached the top five on the Hot 100. Following the release of their fourth studio album, “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” in 2009, the Jonas Brothers announced a hiatus to explore solo projects. During this time, Nick formed a new band called Nick Jonas & the Administration and released his debut solo album, “Who I Am,” in 2010. He also focused on acting, taking on roles in Broadway shows and television series like “Smash.”

After the official disbandment of the Jonas Brothers in 2013, Nick Jonas began to establish himself as a solo artist. He signed with Island Records and released his self-titled album in 2014, which featured the hit single “Jealous.” The album’s success marked a new chapter in his career, showcasing his growth as an artist. Jonas later co-founded Safehouse Records and released his third album, “Last Year Was Complicated,” in 2016, which reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2017, Jonas expanded his repertoire by starring in the adventure comedy film “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” which became a massive box office success. In 2019, the Jonas Brothers reunited, releasing the album “Happiness Begins,” which marked their return to the music scene after a six-year hiatus. Nick’s fourth solo album, “Spaceman,” was released in March 2021, further showcasing his evolution as a musician.
