Nessa Barrett, born on August 6, 2002, in Galloway Township, New Jersey, is an American singer-songwriter who has made significant strides in the music industry since her rise to fame. Of Puerto Rican descent, Barrett faced alienation during her adolescence as she was one of the few children raised by a single mother following her parents’ divorce. Despite these challenges, she found solace and expression in music, a passion she has pursued since she could walk and talk.

Barrett’s early exposure to music came from her father, Drew Barrett, a rapper, actor, and motivational speaker who maintained a home studio. Her creative journey began to take shape in 2019 when she started posting videos on TikTok. These videos quickly garnered attention, leading to a recording contract with Warner Records. In July 2020, Barrett released her debut single, “Pain,” a piano-based ballad that marked her official entry into the music world.

She also released “Sick of Myself” featuring Whethan in September 2023 and a tribute to Cooper Noriega titled “Club Heaven” in October 2023.
