Neck Deep

Neck Deep is a powerhouse of the modern pop-punk scene, hailing from Wrexham, Wales. Formed in 2012, the band began as a passion project between vocalist Ben Barlow and guitarist Lloyd Roberts, who uploaded the track “What Did You Expect?” online—unaware it would spark a global journey. The song’s viral success prompted the duo to bring in Matt West (guitar), Dani Washington (drums), and Fil Thorpe-Evans (bass), forming the original lineup that would go on to make waves in the punk world.

Their debut EPs, Rain in July (2012) and A History of Bad Decisions (2013), gained a loyal following and caught the attention of Hopeless Records, who signed the band later that year. Their first full-length album, Wishful Thinking (2014), helped solidify their status in the UK pop-punk resurgence.

With the release of Life’s Not Out to Get You (2015), co-produced by A Day to Remember’s Jeremy McKinnon, Neck Deep broke into the UK Top 10 and received critical acclaim for its infectious energy and heartfelt lyrics. The band continued to evolve with albums like The Peace and the Panic (2017) and the concept-driven All Distortions Are Intentional (2020).

In 2024, they released their self-titled album Neck Deep, produced by bassist Seb Barlow, marking a new chapter following drummer Dani Washington’s departure in 2022.
