About Men I Trust

Men I Trust is an indie band hailing from Montreal, Canada, formed in 2014. The trio consists of Emma Proulx (vocals and guitar), Jessy Caron (guitar and bass), and Dragos Chiriac (keyboards). Known for their dreamy fusion of indie pop and electronic elements, the band has built a loyal fanbase both in Canada and internationally.

The band’s story begins with high school friends Caron and Chiriac, who later reunited at Université Laval’s music department. They released their self-titled debut album in 2014, followed by Headroom in 2015. In 2016, Proulx joined as the lead vocalist and guitarist, bringing a new dynamic to the group. Their breakthrough came with songs like “Tailwhip” and “Show Me How,” which gained traction on platforms like Spotify and helped them land spots at major music festivals, including Coachella and Lollapalooza.

Their 2019 album Oncle Jazz was long-listed for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize, featuring reworked tracks from earlier releases. The band continued to impress with the 2021 release of Untourable Album, and they even performed a Tiny Desk (Home) concert for NPR. In 2024, they dropped their single “Husk,” showcasing their evolution as artists.

Celebrated for their self-produced music and intimate live performances, Men I Trust continues to carve out a unique space in the indie music world, blending genres and offering an authentic, genre-defying sound.
