Marina Diamandis, known mononymously as Marina, was born on October 10, 1985, in Brynmawr, Wales. She is a celebrated Welsh singer-songwriter who rose to fame with her distinctive blend of electropop and indie pop. Growing up near Abergavenny, Marina moved to London at 18 to pursue her musical dreams, immersing herself in the city’s vibrant arts scene.

Her debut album, The Family Jewels (2010), introduced her unique style with standout tracks like “Hollywood.” In 2012, she released Electra Heart, a concept album exploring themes of identity, fame, and personal transformation. The album spawned hits like “Primadonna,” solidifying her place in pop music.

Marina continued to evolve with her subsequent albums, Froot (2015) and Love + Fear (2019), both showcasing her ever-expanding musicality and introspective lyrics. In 2021, she released Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land, an album that marked a further step in her artistic growth, blending pop with introspective and political themes.
