Marija Šerifović

Marija Šerifović is a celebrated Serbian singer renowned for her powerful voice and emotional ballads. Born on November 14, 1984, in Kragujevac, Serbia, she grew up in a musical family—her mother, Verica Šerifović, is a well-known folk singer, and her father, Rajko Šerifović, also had a background in music.

Šerifović embarked on her music career in 1998, making a name for herself with her debut album Naj, Najbolja in 2003. She continued to build her reputation with the album Bez Ljubavi in 2006. However, it was in 2007 that she achieved international fame, winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with her powerful ballad “Molitva.” This victory marked Serbia’s first and, so far, only win in the competition, cementing her place in European music history.

Aside from her music career, Marija Šerifović has become a prominent television personality, serving as a judge on the Serbian singing competition Zvezde Granda since 2015. Over the years, she has continued to release successful albums, including Hrabro in 2014 and Dolazi ljubav in 2023.
