Mammoth WVH

Mammoth WVH is the powerful solo project of Wolfgang Van Halen, the only son of rock legend Eddie Van Halen. Born from a desire to carve out his own artistic identity, Wolfgang launched Mammoth WVH as a one-man band—writing, singing, and playing every instrument on his recordings. Far from riding on his family name, he uses the project to showcase his own voice, sound, and vision.

The name “Mammoth” is a nod to the early days of Van Halen, who were briefly known by the same name before finding fame. With his father’s blessing, Wolfgang revived the title as both a tribute and a symbol of reinvention.

The project’s debut single, “Distance”—a deeply personal tribute to Eddie Van Halen—was released in 2020 and resonated worldwide, earning a Grammy nomination. His self-titled debut album followed in 2021, blending hard rock muscle with melodic sensibility, and debuting at #12 on the Billboard 200. The album proved Wolfgang was more than a famous last name; he was a force in his own right.

In 2023, he released Mammoth II, a sophomore effort that deepened his sound and solidified his standing in modern rock. While Mammoth WVH is a solo effort in the studio, Wolfgang performs live with a full band, translating his vision to the stage with energy and authenticity.
