Kygo, born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll on September 11, 1991, in Singapore, is a Norwegian DJ, music producer, and songwriter known for his groundbreaking work in the tropical house genre, blending house music with tropical-inspired sounds. Growing up in Bergen, Norway, Kygo developed a passion for music at an early age, starting piano lessons at six and later teaching himself music production with Logic Studio and a MIDI keyboard.
Kygo’s big break came in 2013 with his remix of Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire,” which gained millions of streams and helped him develop his signature sound. His 2014 hit single “Firestone,” featuring Conrad Sewell, cemented his place in the global electronic music scene. By 2015, Kygo became the fastest artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify, showcasing his rapid rise to fame.
His debut album Cloud Nine (2016) featured popular tracks like “Stole the Show” and “Stay,” further propelling him into the international spotlight.
