Kiki Morente, born José Enrique Morente on December 30, 1989, in Granada, Spain, is an acclaimed flamenco singer, guitarist, and composer. He comes from a family steeped in the traditions of flamenco: his father, the legendary Enrique Morente, was a pioneering figure in the genre, and his mother, Aurora Carbonell, is a flamenco dancer. Raised in this rich musical environment, Kiki began performing at a young age alongside his father and sister, the renowned flamenco singer Estrella Morente, on stages across the world.

Kiki’s musical career began with the release of his debut album Albayzín in 2017, named after the historic neighborhood in Granada. This album paid tribute to his roots, featuring traditional flamenco cante and reflecting his deep connection to his heritage. In 2021, Kiki released El Cante, a more personal work in which he introduced his own lyrics and compositions, marking a significant step in his evolution as an artist while still honoring the essence of flamenco.

Looking ahead, Kiki is preparing to release his third album, Azabache, in the autumn of 2024. This album will continue to explore the traditional elements of flamenco while incorporating contemporary influences, bridging the past and present of the genre.
