Kid Milli

Choi Won-jae, better known by his stage name Kid Milli, is a South Korean rapper born on October 26, 1993, in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Before venturing into the world of music, Kid Milli was involved in semi-professional StarCraft gaming, but it was his encounter with Beenzino’s track “If I Die Tomorrow” that ignited his passion for hip-hop. This pivotal moment set him on a path to becoming one of South Korea’s most recognized figures in the hip-hop scene.

Kid Milli’s music career officially began in 2016 with the release of his single “TN” under the label BLGM. His breakthrough came when he participated in the rap competition show “Show Me the Money 777,” where he earned significant attention by finishing as the second runner-up. This exposure helped establish him as a prominent voice in the South Korean hip-hop scene.

In 2017, Kid Milli signed with Indigo Music, marking a significant step in his career. His first EP, Maiden Voyage (2017), showcased his unique style and musical versatility. This was followed by his studio album AI, The Playlist in 2018, which charted at number 49 in South Korea. Over the years, Kid Milli continued to evolve as an artist, releasing Beige in 2023, which further solidified his position within the music industry by reaching number 26 on the South Korean charts.

In addition to his solo work, Kid Milli is a member of the hip-hop crews WYBH and COZYBOYS. His collaborations with other artists have contributed to shaping the modern landscape of South Korean hip-hop. Known for his distinct sound and raw lyricism, Kid Milli remains a significant force in the genre, constantly pushing boundaries and influencing the next generation of rappers.
