Khalid Donnel Robinson, widely known as Khalid, is an acclaimed American singer, songwriter, and record producer, born on February 11, 1998, in Fort Stewart, Georgia. He is of African-American and Mexican descent. Khalid’s journey to musical stardom began in El Paso, Texas, where his family moved during his childhood. His early exposure to music, largely influenced by his mother, sparked his passion for creating music. By the age of 15, he was already writing songs and sharing them on SoundCloud, which marked the beginning of his musical career.

In July 2016, Khalid released his debut single, “Location,” which quickly gained traction, peaking at number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and earning quadruple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The song’s success catapulted Khalid into the spotlight, showcasing his unique blend of R&B, hip hop, pop, and pop-soul. His debut studio album, American Teen, followed in March 2017. The album, featuring hit singles like “Young Dumb & Broke,” was a commercial triumph, reaching number four on the US Billboard 200 and receiving quadruple platinum certification.
