About Ke Personajes
Ke Personajes is an Argentine cumbia group that was formed in 2016 in the city of Concepción del Uruguay, Entre Ríos, Argentina. Despite their early beginnings, it wasn’t until 2022 that they achieved significant recognition, propelled into the spotlight by their viral hit “Adiós amor-Oye mujer” on YouTube. This song became a major sensation, catapulting the band to widespread fame and opening doors for extensive tours throughout Argentina, Latin America, and Europe.
The band’s journey began with Emanuel Noir and Sebastián Boffeli, who initially collaborated on YouTube videos. Boffeli uploaded music videos to his channel, occasionally featuring Noir’s vocals. Their informal partnership turned into a career opportunity when a viewer contacted them to perform at a private party. Though they were not yet a formal band, this invitation sparked their formation. Noir recalls the pivotal moment when they decided to perform together, marking the birthday of the band Ke Personajes.
The original lineup of Ke Personajes included Emanuel Noir as the vocalist, Damián Piñeiro on keyboard, Sebastián Boffeli on electric drums, and Enzo Martínez on güiro. They were later joined by Joel Brem on keyboard and Juan Emanuel Álvarez in diffusion. This diverse assembly of musicians brought a unique blend of sounds and influences, contributing to their distinctive style.
2022 was a breakthrough year for Ke Personajes. Their rising popularity led to collaborations with notable figures in Argentine music, such as Pablo Lescano from Damas Gratis, María Becerra, and Abel Pintos. These collaborations further solidified their presence in the music scene. Emanuel Noir, the charismatic frontman, often reflects on how the band became his salvation after years of battling drug addiction, criminal involvement, and suicide attempts. He credits his musical career with helping him find a new path and purpose.
Ke Personajes’ musical influences are diverse, with Noir citing Bob Marley as a significant inspiration. This eclectic taste is evident in their music, which combines traditional cumbia rhythms with modern elements. Their tribute to the rock band Queen, through a cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” showcases their versatility and ability to honor different genres while maintaining their unique sound.
One of the most memorable moments in their concert tours was when Emanuel Noir dressed as the character from “The Mask,” surprising and delighting the audience. This playful and theatrical approach to their performances adds an extra layer of entertainment, endearing them further to their fans.
In recent years, Ke Personajes has continued to produce new music and collaborate with other artists. On April 4, 2023, they released “Un finde / Crossover #2” with Big One and FMK, followed by a live version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” on June 29. Their single “Ojitos rojas,” released on July 21 with Grupo Frontera, and their collaboration with La Delio Valdez for “Adiós Amor” on August 6, exemplify their ongoing creative output. On December 23, they released a version of “Mojada” by Vilma Palma e Vampiros.
Their latest releases include “Piel” with Tiago PZK on February 2, 2024, and “Intento (En vivo)” with Ulises Bueno on June 13. These tracks continue to showcase their evolving sound and commitment to delivering heartfelt and engaging music.
Ke Personajes has not only captured the hearts of fans across Argentina and beyond but has also demonstrated the power of music to transform lives and bring people together. Their journey from a casual YouTube collaboration to international tours and major collaborations is a testament to their talent, resilience, and the universal appeal of their music.
