Julieta

Julieta Venegas, born on November 24, 1970, in Long Beach, California, is a celebrated Mexican singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer. Raised in Tijuana, Mexico, she developed a love for music early on, studying classical piano at the age of eight. Over the years, she expanded her musical talents, learning instruments such as the cello, guitar, and accordion, which became central to her signature sound.

Venegas’ career began to take off in the late 1990s with her debut album Aquí (1997), which quickly gained critical acclaim and cemented her place in Latin alternative music. Her third album, Sí (2003), marked a turning point in her career, with tracks like “Andar Conmigo” and “Algo Está Cambiando” becoming massive hits and propelling her to widespread recognition.

Her 2006 album Limón y Sal remains her best-selling work to date, driven by the chart-topping success of “Me Voy.” This album solidified Venegas’ position as a dominant force in Latin music, earning her numerous awards, including Latin Grammys and MTV Awards.

In recent years, Venegas has embraced a more intimate musical direction, relocating to Buenos Aires, Argentina. She made her theatrical debut in 2019 with the play La Enamorada and released an album of the same name, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
