Joost Klein, born November 10, 1997, in Leeuwarden, Friesland, Netherlands, is a dynamic musician, rapper, singer, and former YouTuber. Raised in the small village of Britsum, Joost faced significant challenges early in life, losing both of his parents at a young age. At just 12, his father passed away from cancer, followed by his mother’s sudden death from cardiac arrest the next year. Afterward, Joost was raised by his older siblings, which shaped much of his character and artistry.

Joost initially rose to fame through his YouTube channel, where he was known as EenhoornJoost. His content, a mix of music, comedy, and vlogs, quickly gained a large following, thanks to his unique blend of catchy beats and introspective lyrics. He later transitioned into the music scene, earning recognition in the Netherlands with songs like “Scandinavian Boy,” “Wachtmuziek,” and “Friesenjung.” His albums, including M van Marketing (with Donnie), Albino, and 1983, further highlighted his diverse musical abilities.

In 2024, Joost represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, with his track “Europapa.” The song, a tribute to his late father and a celebration of free movement, became a fan favorite. However, controversy struck when Joost was disqualified hours before his performance due to an incident with a Swedish camera operator. Despite this setback, “Europapa” achieved diamond certification in the Netherlands, and Joost’s popularity soared, leading to sold-out shows in London and Los Angeles.
