Jasmine Williams

Jasmine Williams is a dynamic artist, producer, and poet from South Central Los Angeles, known for her multifaceted talents and her significant role in the spoken word community. As the Executive Director of Da Poetry Lounge (DPL), one of the largest weekly open mic events in the nation, she plays a crucial role in nurturing and expanding the voices of emerging poets and performers.

A graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Dramatic Arts and Playwriting, Jasmine’s work spans across television, film, and digital platforms. She has showcased her artistic talents on HBO, TV One, and All Def Digital. Jasmine’s work is deeply rooted in her desire to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities and to tell stories that are often left unheard.

Her collaborations extend beyond DPL, as she has worked with organizations such as Youth Speaks, Say Word LA, and ArtworxLA, and contributed to notable projects on networks like FOX and PBS. Jasmine’s art is a reflection of her commitment to using creativity as a force for social change and community empowerment.

Outside of her professional life, Jasmine enjoys activities like playing UNO and watching classic cartoons, bringing a sense of fun and warmth to her relationships. Her approachable, nurturing personality has made her a beloved figure in the Los Angeles arts scene, where she continues to inspire and empower the next generation of artists.
