Icewear Vezzo

Chivez Smith, known professionally as Icewear Vezzo, is an influential rapper and entrepreneur hailing from Detroit, Michigan. Born on October 31, 1989, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Vezzo moved to Detroit’s east side at a young age, where he would later establish his musical career. He attended Romulus Senior High School and went on to study at the University of Detroit Mercy.

Vezzo’s music journey began in 2012 with the release of his debut mixtape The Clarity, but it was his 2013 breakout single “Money Phone” that earned him local recognition. His 2014 project, The Clarity 3: Fully Blown, charted on Billboard’s Heatseekers list, marking his growing influence in the hip-hop scene.

In 2018, Icewear Vezzo signed with Motown Records, releasing Clarity 6, which helped propel his career even further. He also founded his own label, Iced Up Records, under which he dropped the Rich Off Pints mixtape series. The trilogy saw both critical acclaim and commercial success, with the first mixtape making it onto the Heatseekers Albums chart.

Vezzo has collaborated with major artists like Lil Durk, Babyface Ray, and Lil Yachty, solidifying his versatility within the hip-hop community. Outside of music, he is a dedicated entrepreneur and community advocate, using his platform to promote resilience and ambition. His music, deeply rooted in his experiences growing up in Detroit, often explores themes of survival, ambition, and the pursuit of success.
