I Prevail

I Prevail is a powerhouse rock band hailing from Southfield, Michigan, recognized for their genre-blending mix of metalcore, post-hardcore, and alternative rock. Formed in 2013, the group burst onto the scene with a metal-infused cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” which quickly went viral and later achieved platinum status—marking the beginning of their meteoric rise.

Their debut EP Heart vs. Mind (2014) introduced fans to their emotionally driven and heavy-hitting sound. With their first full-length album Lifelines (2016), I Prevail proved they weren’t a one-hit wonder. The album debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and featured standout tracks like “Scars,” resonating with listeners through themes of perseverance and self-empowerment.

In 2019, they took a more introspective turn with Trauma, exploring mental health and personal struggles. The album not only earned critical acclaim but also landed them Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance with the explosive single “Bow Down.”

Their third studio release, True Power (2022), saw the band pushing boundaries further—melding aggressive riffs with electronic textures and hip-hop undertones. However, in 2025, the band faced a major shift when co-founder and clean vocalist Brian Burkheiser stepped away due to health issues related to Eagle syndrome. Eric Vanlerberghe stepped into the lead vocal role, with guitarist Dylan Bowman contributing backing vocals.

Despite changes, I Prevail continues to dominate stages with electrifying live shows and a loyal fanbase. Their blend of raw emotion, heavy sound, and adaptability cements their place as a defining voice in modern rock.
