Hotboii

Javarri Latre Walker, better known as Hotboii, is an American rapper and songwriter from Orlando, Florida. Born on June 13, 2000, in the Pine Hills neighborhood, he grew up in a large family with 17 siblings. Inspired by artists like Lil Wayne, Rich Homie Quan, and Kodak Black, he started rapping at just seven years old. By 2016, he was releasing music on SoundCloud and YouTube, gradually building his name in the underground scene.

That same year, Hotboii faced legal trouble and served two years in a juvenile detention program for breaking and entering. While incarcerated, he used his time to refine his songwriting and plan his next moves. Upon his release in 2018, he quickly made waves with tracks like Switcharoo and YG’s, the latter giving listeners a raw glimpse into his life and struggles.

His breakthrough came in 2020 with Don’t Need Time, a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Wolph. The song’s emotional depth struck a chord with fans, racking up millions of streams. A remix featuring Lil Baby followed, adding to its success and addressing themes of police brutality after the death of his friend Salaythis Melvin. By 2022, the song had earned Platinum certification from the RIAA.

Hotboii’s momentum continued with the mixtape Kut Da Fan On (2020) and albums like Double O Baby (2020) and Blinded By Death (2022), featuring collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, and more. Despite legal setbacks, including a 2021 racketeering case that led to over two years behind bars, he was released in 2024 and remains committed to sharing his story through music.
