About GVLLOW
GVLLOW, an artist from Riverside, California, has made a name for himself by blending punk rock, gothic rock, post-punk, and hip-hop into a sound that’s entirely his own. Growing up in Southern California, he was drawn to the underground punk scene, frequenting venues like The Showcase Theatre in Corona. Bands like The Adicts, TSOL, and Subhumans played a huge role in shaping his musical identity.
His journey started at 14 when he picked up the drums and played in punk bands. By the time he was 21, he had transitioned into hip-hop, working as a producer and DJ under the name JO$HEATN. He became part of the rap collective Schemaposse, collaborating with artists like Ghostemane and Lil Peep. In 2016, he set out as a solo artist, determined to merge his diverse influences into something fresh and raw.
GVLLOW’s 2018 project Waste Away marked the beginning of his solo career. His self-titled album GVLLOW (2020) solidified his place in the alternative music scene, featuring collaborations with Travis Barker, Brennan Savage, and Jack Grisham of TSOL. Songs like Fear, Johnny Cash, and Last Dance reflect his signature blend of dark wave aesthetics and modern alternative sounds.
His visuals are just as impactful as his music, often exploring themes of grief and longing. The music video for Pray to God, directed by Eli Sokhn, captures this deeply, following GVLLOW through a city as he mourns a lost loved one.
With over 45,000 Instagram followers, GVLLOW continues to push boundaries, sharing his journey with fans while cementing his place as a genre-blurring artist in today’s music scene.
